Chenal Country Club offers two championship 18-hole Golf Courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Chenal has continually enhanced and upgraded their facilities and amenities and sits in the heart of a 4,700-acre expertly planned community in west Little Rock.
The Founders Course was opened with the Club in 1990. The Bear Den Course opened in 2003. The two courses compliment and contrast each other well, and present a daunting array of shot-making requirements that are both fun for the recreational golfer, yet challenging for the low-handicappers as well. Head Golf Course Superintendent Jed Spencer and his Turf Staff keep the bent grass greens and Zoysia fairways in pristine condition. John Warburton, Head Golf Professional, oversees the Golf Shop and all golf-related activities, including instruction, tournaments, and everyday play. Chenal Country Club hosted the 106th Southern Amateur Championship in July 2012. The Southern Am is ranked among the top five amateur tournaments and attracts players from the entire U.S., as well as players from other countries.
The 100,000 square foot Clubhouse boasts several dining rooms, including a casual family dining area, a more formal adult dining room, and the Men's Grill and Lounge. The Member's Veranda offers a beautiful view of the Founders golf course and is a much sought-after outdoor dining venue. Golfers enjoy the Tavern on the Green, which offers casual food, snacks, and beverages. The recently renovated St. Andrews Ballroom hosts parties of 40 to 600 people, and can accommodate almost any request, whether it's a sit-down dinner, a cocktail party, or a wedding reception. Culinary operations are overseen by Executive Chef Jordan Davis, who treats members to fresh, seasonal food on a daily basis.
